Firefighters tackle huge blaze in Pontefract

Firefighters from six stations across the district were called to a blaze in Pontefract last night.

Crews from Castleford, Pontefract, Featherstone, Normanton, South Kirby and Wakefield attended the open fire on Spitalgap Lane at around 9.30pm.

A number of jets and beaters were used to extinguish the fire during the night.
