And to help you make an extra fuss of the special lady (or ladies) in your life, we asked for your photos and messages to let them know they are loved so much.
Happy Mother's Day to all the mums across Wakefield, including those who are sadly no longer with us, but will always be in our hearts.
We’ll be sharing more photos and messages later this morning, so keep an eye out on the website!

5. Always loved
Aysha Upton said: "My mum - this woman was, and will always be, the glue that held my family together. She was the best thing that happened to us all. She loved, unconditionally supported an understood. She didn't always have it easy but she made sure we had what she could give an I'll always be forever thankful for that. As an adult I now see the sacrifice she made just to ensure we had things and didn't miss out. I love you so much and wish you could have been here to see all the amazing things that happened, like me getting married, all of your grandchildren, and each achievement an milestone each of us overcame. Mother's Day has never been the same since you left and it never gets easier. Thank you for everything and I love you so much, mom." Photo: Aysha Upton

6. Always there
Lindsey Burton said: "My mum with my big brother Dean who we sadly lost in October. My mum was his full time carer his whole life he had been a poorly lad from age six and no matter what never left his side even in those last moments. Even as kids, still showed up to every parents evening, school plays and anything else we had and never let us be scared when my lovely brother was at his worst at times with his health." 8. One in a million
Tess Annakin wrote: "My mum is one in a million and that doesn't cover it. My best friend ,my soul mate, always there through the high and lows, knowing what to say and do and doesn't realise how special and amazing she is. She never puts herself first and always thinking of others." Photo: Tess Annakin
