So, what are the current most popular breeds in the UK?
Joshua George, Founder of ClickSlice, analysed Google Search data to find the most desired dog breeds in the UK.
5. Belgian Malinois
The Belgian Malinois is the fifth most searched for breed on Google, with 85,000 a month. With proper training and socialising, a Belgian Malinois can be a good, faithful pet in the home. "Being naturally watchful over their family is a trait of the breed," says Joshua. "However, this can make it awkward when letting guests or other visitors into your home, as they can easily become protective and unfriendly toward strangers." Photo: Getty
6. French Bulldog
The sixth most search for pooch is the French Bulldog with 81,000.They get along well with children and are absolutely adorable, so the French Bulldog has seen a rise in popularity over the years. They are playful and energetic, so regular exercising is required, and they should always be supervised when playing with children, as they can occasionally get over-excited and play a little rough.
