Long-time rocker David Fothergill’s Last Waltz bid for Motor Neurone Disease and dementia charities

The former Wakefield Express reporter released his song, Last Waltz, on YouTube, and listeners soon contributed more than £1,000 to his Giving website.
His song is performed by a music group which he founded recently.

Hide AdIn the 1960s Mr Fothergill played with pop group The Vampires. They played regularly around Leeds, and won a chance to appear on television’s Opportunity Knocks.


He said: “It was difficult to write a song about such nightmare conditions as MND/Dementia, without sounding extremely gloomy, but while the song is touching, and sad, it pays tribute to a couple struggling to cope with the last chapter of a life-long love story.”
