Plans lodged to turn former city centre dental surgery into flats
Plans have been submitted to convert a former city centre dental surgery into flats.
The proposals include building four self contained apartments at the Georgian property on Bond Street in Wakefield.
The building was previously occupied by dental care provider Mydentist but has been empty since April this year when the practice located to new premises on Trinity Walk following an investment of £2m.
A planning application by Jonathan Bowden said the building, opposite Wakefield College, was on Wakefield Council’s list of buildings of local interest and within the Wentworth Terrace conservation crea.

Plans include locating flats on the lower ground floor, ground floor, first floor and second floor.
A design and access statement said: “All the flats have been designed so that habitable rooms will have windows providing natural light and ventilation to the accommodation.”
“The building is a typical brick Georgian town house built in a row of similar properties.
“The original character of the building will be retained as no external alteration other than repairs and maintenance will be carried out.”
Internal changes to the building are also proposed to ensure the property complies with access, fire safety and building regulations.
Four parking spaces to the rear of the property would be retained if the application is approved.
The statement added: “The size and scale of the building and entrances are unaltered.
“There will be no overlooking or overshadowing as front windows face directly onto Bond Street and rear windows onto Laburnum Road.”
Council planners have yet to determine the application and members of the public have until September 25 to make comments.
