Police officer taken to hospital for treatment after Wakefield crash

A police officer was taken to hospital for treatment following a collision in Wakefield last night.

A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police confirmed that they had been called at 7.37pm yesterday (Monday, February 25) to a report of a collision on Northgate.

The incident involved a marked police car and another vehicle, and is understood to be a low-impact incident.

Two police officers were in the car at the time of the collision, and one was taken to hospital for treatment to minor injuries.

The driver of the other vehicle was not injured.

Northgate, close to the junction with Leeds Road, remained closed for several hours, before reopening at around 9.50pm.
