Prince of Wales Hospice Appeal: Dedications in memory of a dad and a dear friend

Denise’s flowers are dedicated to her dad, and to her dear friend, Debbie.

Both required the services of the hospice and so Denise knows how much it needs her support.

She said: “It’s not until you’ve used the hospice services that you realise we would be lost without them.

“It’s not just those who are ill, but patients’ families and friends are also cared for and supported.

“It’s the little touches and caring gestures that make a world of difference at a very difficult time. I am eternally grateful for that.”

The friends used to spend many happy hours in Debbie’s beloved garden.

They enjoyed getting together for summer drinks and chats, and even donned their winter woollies to sit out in the colder weather.

A forget me not flower therefore seemed to be the perfect way for Denise to remember her friend.

“The flowers are so well made, and mine have been in the garden for two years now,” she said:

“They are still as lovely as the day I received them. They brighten my garden all year round, and when I see them from my kitchen window, they cheer me up and remind me of happy times.

“I’m looking forward to receiving a pink flower for Debbie this year, as she loved bright colours in her garden.

“My donation of £25 is less than the cost of a large bouquet from the florist.

“The flowers last forever, but best of all is that the hospice benefits and they can continue to provide the best care when it is needed most.

Their caring and kindness will always be appreciated and never forgotten.”

Forget me not flowers are available to anyone – you don’t need to have used the hospice services.

For a suggested minimum donation of £25, you can choose between a traditional blue or a striking pink forget me not made of iron.

You will also receive a forget me not card with your dedication inside.
