Pub plans fundraising night for Leeds Rhinos star Rob Burrow

A fundraising night for Pontefract-born rugby star Rob Burrow is planned at a pub next week.

The Railway Inn on Pontefract’s Mill Dam Lane will host the event on Thursday, March 19, which will see live music compered by award-winning entertainer, Mike Carlton, a raffle and an auction.

All of the money raised will go towards a motor neurone disease (MND) charity.

Rob, 37, announced before Christmas that he had been diagnosed with the incurable disease. Hundreds of thousands of pounds have since been raised.

Tickets are £10 and available from the bar. They include a pint and a hog roast sandwich.
