School Business Manager, Tara Ainsworth, said: “So many of our families and pupils in the school are keen rugby supporters.

“So we decided to share any money raised equally with the MND Association in support of Rob and his family.

“We’re in talks with project companies about the new outdoor space, it will be made of wood and other natural resources so the kids can thrive outside, our current one is quite outdated.

“All the funds we obtain will be split 50/50 between the schools outdoor area and the MND Association.”

The school have raised over £1200 of their set £5000 target.

Headteacher, Richard Cairns, said: "After watching the recent Rob Burrow's documentary it touched us as a community.

"We have many club colours within our school but we will come together as one rugby family to make a difference to the lives of families and individuals living and affected by Motor Neurone Disease.

"As a school, we are also looking to develop and enhance our Early Years outdoor space and Playground so that we can provide the young children that come through our school, with the very best start to their time in education.
