South Kirkby chippy offering fish and chips for a fiver on St George's Day
A fish and chip shop in the Wakefield district is offering its signature dish for £5 to mark St George’s Day.
The Singing Fryer on Mill Lane in South Kirkby announced the deal on its Facebook page.
The offer will run 11.30am to 7pm today (Thursday, April 23).
St George’s Day honours England’s patron sain, who is famously associated with the legend of slaying a dragon.
Although much of his story is based on myth, he is believed to have lived in the 3rd century.
