South Kirkby filmed 'Adolescence' star becomes youngest ever Actor Awards winner
Owen Cooper, who starred in the South Kirkby filmed show 'Adolescence', has won at the 2026 Actors Awards.
The 16-year-old was named best actor in a Television Movie or Limited Series at the awards ceremony yesterday (March 1).

The star officially dethroned Kate Winslet as the youngest individual winner at the event – which was previously known as the Screen Actors Guild Awards (SAG).
Owen was not attending the event, but presenter Damson Idris joked: “Owen couldn't be here so I'll be taking this home, thank you."
Owen starred as ‘Jamie’ in the Netflix crime series, with him already picking up a Golden Globe, Critics’ Choice Award and an Emmy for the role.
The series follows a family when their 13-year-old son is arrested for the murder of a classmate, and was filmed in the South Kirkby-based production studios, Production Park, over six months in 2024.
Most of the action was filmed on-site and in areas a short driving distance from the base.
