The Prospect in Ossett reopens with new people and new ideas

The venue, on Prospect Road, closed in December, and reopened last Friday under new landlords Dave Sykes as well as Nicola and Mark Beever, who also run The Wagon on Westgate.

The pub will be offering a range of new themed evenings, including open mic night with Leon Pashley on Tuesdays, quiz night with Bassett on Wednesdays, Acoustic Fridays @ The Prospect with a new artist every week, a DJ on Saturday night and Karaoke Sunday - a Sunday Sesh with Mark Turver from 4pm to 9pm.

The Prospect will be open 4pm to 10pm Tuesday, 4pm to 11pm on Wednesday and Thursday, noon to midnight on Friday and Saturday and noon to 11pm on Sunday. It is closed on Mondays.

All SkySports matches will be shown through the week with live commentary and the pub boasts a quality kept pool table, darts and a pinball machine coming soon.

Friendly staff will be on hand to serve a great range of draught and premium beers, a fantastic gin and spirit selection and prosecco for £12 per bottle every Friday with Timothy Taylor and Ossett Brewery real ales set to be installed next week.

Mr Sykes said: "We have reopened The Prospect with a tag line of ‘New People, New Ideas’ We have set a high standard to our pub that we are very happy with and will maintain that. We want to make The Prospect a community pub for nice people to be able to come and have a nice time."
