Three people arrested after teenager seriously injured in crash

Police are making a further appeal for witnesses after a crash that has left a 17-year-old in critical condition in hospital.

The crash happened at around 12.45am on Saturday, August 15 between a black Peugeot 206 and a grey Toyota Avensis on Barewell Hill, Hemsworth.

The Peugeot was travelling on Robin Lane, turning right onto Barewell Hill, while the Toyota was on Barewell Hill travelling towards Barnsley Road.

Road traffic officers would like to speak to the driver of a dark coloured Land Rover who may have witnessed the collision or was driving in the area at the time.

The 17-year-old boy who was a passenger in the Toyota remains in hospital at this time in a critical but stable condition.

Three people arrested have been released under investigation.
