Residents in Sandal were invited to create their own characters as part of the Scarecrow Salute to our Heroes, in place of the village's annual scarwcrow trail. Take a look at some of our favourites below.

A Wakefield village has created a special scarecrow trail paying tribute to the workers on the front line of the coronavirus pandemic.

Instead residents were invited to create their own key worker scarecrows and display them in their gardens. The Community Association then produced a list of all those taking part so families could choose how they would walk the trail. Photo: Les Goddard
