Wakefield choir raises more than £2,100 for local charities
A Wakefield choir that has been performing for more than 60 years has raised more than £2,100 for charities over the past year.
The Rodillian Singers, a female voice choir founded in 1964 at Rothwell Grammar School, has more than 50 members.
The choir has performed at venues including the Royal Albert Hall and York Minster and has shared the stage with singers Katherine Jenkins and Russell Watson.
Its repertoire includes pop, rock, jazz, gospel, classical and show music, and it says it has enjoyed success at festivals across the North and at the Isle of Man in 2025.

Rebecca Whitlam has been the choir's musical director since 2016.
Through its annual programme of carol singing, members raised £544 for Wakefield Hospice, where they have also taken part in the charity's Light Up a Life service.
Earlier this year, the choir performed with Harrogate Male Voice Choir at a concert in Boston Spa, raising £1,400 for Martin House Children's Hospice.
