Coming off the back of the success of his first single ‘How Could You’, local country musician, Matt Hodges, released his latest piece of music entitled ‘Forever With You.’
In ‘Forever With You’ Matt serenades the listener with uplifting themes of love and romance.
After his previous single received global attention from radio stations across the world, particularly in the country music capital of Tennessee, it has since been played in over 57 countries and has been streamed 26,000 times worldwide.
It also saw Matt reach number 2 in the iTunes Global Country Charts and 61 in the Global iTunes charts.
Matt’s goals for ‘Forever With You’ differ from his previous hit.
Matt said: “I wrote ‘Forever With You’ originally when I was 17 years old, but I’d never got to the point of recording it.
“It was mostly not feeling like it was good enough to do something with before now, but I’ve been working closely with my producer who helped me record my previous single.
“It’s a sort of a typical love song, my goal is to have a couple use it as their first dance at their wedding.
“It seems like a weird thing to want, but I would love to perform it live on someone’s special day.”
‘Forever With You’ is the product of a 6 week process, from Matt perfecting the song technically to it being released on a variety of streaming platforms, including Spotify.
Matt said: “Another aim is to get 20,000 Spotify streams before the new year and it would be great to make an appearance in the country charts again.
“This year has already been insane, but I’ve got big plans to bring more stuff out in the new year.
“I’ll be releasing two more singles, one around February or March time and the second in April, before releasing my album in May.
“I’m also wanting to do a tour across Ireland and the UK around August time.
“I’m ready to get back into gigging again, before lockdown I was out performing three to four nights a week - and I've been doing that for the last 10 years of my life.
"When the pandemic hit, it all came to a stop.
“But also it’s nice to feel like a recording artist, with singles like ‘Forever With You’ being released and my upcoming album.
“It’s amazing to be referred to by people in industry as an actual recording artist.”
