Will it snow in Wakefield: Snow and ice warning for Wakefield, Pontefract and Castleford
A weather warning for snow and ice has been issued for Wakefield.
The yellow weather warning is in place between 7pm tomorrow (Thursday) to midday on Friday, and warns snow and ice could bring some disruption, especially to travel.
The Met Office said: “Outbreaks of rain will fall as snow over higher hills initially, before the snow starts to fall to lower levels through Thursday evening.”
The rain and snow is expected to clear during the early hours of Friday with temperatures expected to fall quickly as skies clear, leading to ice on untreated surfaces.
Snowy, wintry weather can cause delays and make driving conditions dangerous. Keep yourself and others safe by planning your route, giving yourself extra time for your journey.
