Work begins on new South Elmsall care home which will create 100 jobs

A new care home is being built in South Elmsall which is expected to create 100 jobs.

Bennett Court, based on Ash Grove, is due to open towards the end of this year and construction has already started.

It will be Exemplar Health Care’s sixth home in West Yorkshire, and one of more than 30 across Yorkshire, the Midlands, the north-east and north-west

It will support 30 adults living with a range of complex and high acuity needs, arising from neuro-disability, brain injury, spinal injury, stroke, mental ill-health, physical disability, learning disability and/or autism and complex dementia.

Charlotte Lloyd, commissioning director at Exemplar Health Care,said: “We’ve worked closely with the Clinical Commissioning Groups and local authorities and are proud to bring this one-of-a-kind facility to South Elmsall

“It will to enable local people who have suffered an accident, or are living with complex needs, to live close to home, regain their independence and everyday living skills, and move back into their homes in the community.

“As well as providing employment opportunities, there are plans in place to help Bennett Court become part of the local community.
