Plans revealed for air rifle shooting range next to Pugneys

Yorkshire Field Sports said it is launching the venture close to the popular attraction.

The site will be dedicated to air rifle ranges and archery.

The company already offers field sports at two other locations - Newland Hall Park in Altofts, where there is an air rifle range, Hunter Field Target (HFT) range, fishing and clay shooting, and Old Cocksford Golf Course in Sutton, North Yorkshire, which also runs clay shooting.

On its website, the company states: "There will be a HFT range, 150 yard and 100 yard air rifle range, with a pistol range at Pugneys, and a dedicated archery range, in which to pursue the quieter field sports."

It is expected the Pugneys venue will be up and running shortly.

Last week, the company appealed for volunteers to help get it open.
