That’s how it would have stayed until fate took a hand when Brian and Linda, their respective children, met and married.

Ms Shaw started writing plays and dramas twenty years ago and her first attempt Love is a Four Letter Word was based around her personal experiences of her marriage breaking down while pregnant.

She went on to write more scripts, many of which are based around unlikely topics such as domestic abuse and childbirth.

Her plays, which are published by Stagescripts UK Ltd, have now been performed as far afield as America, South Africa, Canada and Australia, as well as closer to home at Wakefield Theatre Royal.
