Police appeal after South Kirkby accident

Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious road traffic accident in South Kirkby on Saturday.

Two men were badly injured after a silver Citroen Xsara and a red Volkswagen Passat were involved in a collision on Broad Lane, close to its junction with Common Lane, at around 4.35pm. The 41-year-old driver of the Xsara was airlifted to the Northern General Hospital, Sheffield, while the 32-year-old driver of the Passat was taken to Pinderfields Hospital. Both men suffered serious but not life-threatening injuries.

Two passengers in the Passat - a man and a woman, both aged 24 - were treated at Barnsley and Pinderfields hospitals.
