Police find body at Pugneys Country Park in Wakefield

Specialist underwater search teams were called in earlier today to help look for a missing 40-year-old man.

A police spokeswoman said the body was found in the water at the park this afternoon (Tuesday).

She said it is believed to be that of the man who was reported missing earlier today.

A post-mortem examination will be carried out but the death is not being treated as suspicious.

Wakefield Council said the park would reopen as normal tomorrow (Wednesday).
