Jon Trickett announces support for Rebecca Long-Bailey in Labour leadership contest

Hemsworth MP Jon Trickett has thrown his support behind Rebecca Long-Bailey in the Labour leadership contest.

Ms Long-Bailey is on the left wing of the party and has the backing of the current Corbyn administration, as well political organisation Momentum and trade union Unite.

Her critics have referred to her as the “Corbyn continuity candidate”.

In a tweet, Mr Trickett said: "I am voting RLB for leader. The only one of the three candidates who did not support the chicken coup."
