They were called earlier today and urged people to stay away from the popular beauty spot.
And Wakefield Council has advise people not to turn up at Pugneys Country Park for a walk this evening.
The decision was taken so that staff could support the emergency services as they fought the blaze at Haw Park Wood.
Anglers Country Park remains temporarily closed until tomorrow morning.
