River search: Reports of body in water near Castleford
Fire crews from across West Yorkshire searched the River Aire last night after a man thought he saw a body in the river.
He was walking across the footbridge, near Lock Lane, Castleford, at around 6.30pm, when he spotted what he thought was a body float past.
Crews from Castleford, Normanton, Rothwell, Wakefield and Rastrick were called on to carry out searches, with back up from the police helicopter.

Hide AdA West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said the river was extremely fast flowing at the time and bankside searches were carried out from Fryston village to Castleford, but a body was not found.
The search was called off at around 8.30pm.
