Scouts to parade through city for St George’s Day

Scouts from across the district will parade through the streets of Wakefield this weekend to mark St George’s Day.

The parade will leave Queen Elizabeth Grammar School, Northgate, at 1pm on Sunday.

Scouts will then march to the city’s cathedral for a short service at around 1.30pm.

Following the service, the parade will take the same route back to the school.

Northgate, St John’s North, Wentworth Street, Bond Street, Wood Street, Cross Square and Westmorland Street will be closed on April 26 while the parade takes place.
