The message can be a simple merry Christmas and happy new year, it’s entirely up to you.

Hannah Thaxter, Express editor, said: “Christmas is a time for families to come together and spend some quality time with each other.

“That’s why we’re asking for people to get in touch with their messages to those who won’t be able to spend Christmas at home.”

All you need to do to get a message in the Express is submit your family member’s name, picture, service details and a message for them on our website.

Or you can email us at [email protected] or [email protected] or [email protected] with a photograph of your relative, where they are serving and your message.

These will then be published on our website and in our newspaper over the Christmas period.
