Solicitors raise cash for brain injury support group

A team of solicitors have traded their work-suits for tracksuits to raise money for a local brain injury support group.

A team of six staff from Heptonstalls Solicitors in Pontefract completed a 5k run in Thornes Park to raise money for Second Chance Headway.

They raised £500 for the cause which supports people affected by brain injuries in the Wakefield district.

Sarah Jane Johnson, a partner in the firm, said: “Headway provides such an important service as they are committed to helping brain injured adults get their lives back on track so that they and their families can enjoy a better future.”

“The run was much hillier than I expected, but the challenge was for a truly worthy and fantastic cause.

“It was a privilege to run for the charity.”

The group presented the money to Peter Morse, manager of the charity, at the law-firm’s headquarters in Goole last week.
