South Elmsall strongman event cancelled
The Four Nations Strongman contest due to take place in South Elmsall next month has been cancelled because of a lack of sponsorship.
The event was planned for April 5 at Frickley Athletic’s ground.
A statement from event organiser Hulks Strongman Division said: “As we are sure you will understand it takes a great deal of time and effort to put on these sports events in the local area. Last year’s Yorkshire’s strongest man was a great success, backed by the sponsor PPS Nutrition. With no sponsor available to help fund the Four Nations Strongman event that we need to pay competitor travel, accommodation, competition costs and venue costs we have been left with no choice but to cancel this event. This was despite approaching local and regional businesses. Later on in the year we may look at another strongman event if this proves a popular choice.”
