Strong winds causing problems on motorways this rush hour
The Tinsley viaduct on the M1 is closed to high-sided vehicles between J34 at the Meadowhall south roundabout, and J34 at the Meadowhall north roundabout. This is due to strong winds.
Strong winds are also affecting driving conditions on the M1 between J36 at Tankersley and J48 at Hook Moor in South Yorkshire, and there are severe delays on the M62 eastbound between J23 for Huddersfield and J27 for Gildersome, because of the weather.
A broken down vehicle is adding to problems on the M62 between J24 at Ainley Top and J23 for Huddersfield.
The met office weather warning for the Yorkshire and Humber remains in place, but the winds are expected to ease off slowly as the day progresses.
