Theatre group's 70th anniversary

The group will perform A Midsummer Night’s Dream at Carleton Community Centre in Pontefract from June 22 to 25. And weather permitting, the Saturday show will be an outdoor performance in the gardens of the community centre at 7pm - but bring your own chair!

Spokeswoman Ruth Connor said: “Over the years we have presented many different genres of play, including farce, comedy, murder, restoration, but for our 70th anniversary we have decided to do something we have never before tried - Shakespeare.”

Tickets for the Wednesday performance cost £5, and £6 for the other nights. All performances start at 7.30pm bar Saturday. Ring 01977 700052 for tickets and if you are a past member of the group as a party is planned.
