The festival, organised by community group Building Ossett Better (BOB), ran alongside the monthly Yorkshire Food and Craft Market.
Organiser John Whiteman said: “It was fantastic and we had more people turn up than we have had in years.
“We had 47 scarecrows around the town and everyone came up with some fantastic entries.
“We have built on what we have done in previous years and it created an exciting day for everyone.”
BOB will be hosting a carved pumpkin competition on Saturday, October 31, which will run alongside the next Yorkshire Food and Craft Market.
Contestants should bring their pumpkins to the market at 10am and people will then vote for their favourite designs.
There will also be a Halloween fancy dress competition.
