Five Towns roadworks: All road closures, temporary lights and planned disruption in Pontefract and Castleford from next week

These are all the planned roadworks which are expected to cause delays in Pontefract, Castleford Hemsworth and Ferrybridge for the week beginning Monday, June 14.

Castleford

The Mount, Airedale- A road closure is in place while BT carrying out on the street. The work has been ongoing since Thursday, and is expected to finish on Monday, June 14.

Ferrybridge Road, Castleford - Two sets of temporary traffic lights will be in place while on Ferrybridge Road while BT carry out work. The first set will be in place at the junction with Park Avenue from 9.30am on Tuesday, June 15 until 3.30pm on Thursday, June 17, while a second set will be installed close to the junction with Morton Crescent from June 16 until June 18.

Sheepwalk Lane, Airedale - BT are also carrying out work on Sheepwalk Lane, Airedale Multi-way signals will be in place from Saturday, June 12 until Wednesday, June 16.

Lock Lane, Castleford - A week of work on Lock Lane is due to come to an end on Monday. Temporary measures have been in place while Northern Gas Networks carry out emergency repairs, bur are expected to finish on June 14.

Savile Road, Castleford - Five days of work on Saville Road will commence on Friday, June 18. Delays are expected in the area while Virgin Media carry out the job.

Wood Street, Castleford - Ongoing disruption at the junction of Methley Road, Wood Street and Savile Road began last week, and is expected to continue until September. Temporary traffic lights will be in use.

Methley Road, Whitwood Mere - Temporary traffic measures will be in place on Methley Road, close to the junction with Raglan Close, while Harlaxton Energy Networks carry out work on the road. Disruption is expected while the work continues, which is expected to be until November.

Lumley Street, Whitwood - Traffic control measures will be in place on Lumley Street on Wednesday, while Wakefield Council work on the road. The work is due to begin at 9.30am and should finish by 3.30pm.

Leeds Road, Cutsyke - Five days of disruption are expected on Cutsyke Road while Northern Powergrid install a new electricity connection in the area. Work will begin at 9am on Thursday, June 7, and finish by 5pm on Monday, June 21.

Leeds Road, Glasshoughton - Further up Leeds Road, a closure will be in place for two nights to allow Network Rail to attend to the level crossing which passes across the road. The road closure will be in place from 9.30pm on Monday, June 14 until 7.30am on Wednesday, June 16.

Ferrybridge

Ferrybridge Road, Ferrybridge - Alternate traffic priority will be in place on Ferrybridge Road while Virgin Media carry out work. Delays are expected in the area while work is carried out on Saturday, June 12 and Sunday, June 13.

Pontefract Road, Ferrybridge - Two weeks of work on a busy road are set to continue this week. Temporary traffic lights have been in place on Pontefract Road, Knottingley, while Wakefield Council carries out work. This work is expected to continue until Monday, June 21.

Pontefract

Beechnut Lane, Pontefract - A two day road closure is planned for Beechnut Lane while Network Rail carry out planned work in the area. The closure will begin at 9am on Monday, June 14, and is expected to conclude by 4pm on Wednesday, June 16.

Mayors Walk, Pontefract - Virgin Media are carrying out work on Mayors Walk beginning on Friday, June 18, with temporary traffic lights in place. The work is due to continue until June 22.

Mill Hill Lane, Pontefract - A road closure will be implemented on Mill Hill Lane while Yorkshire Water work on the road. The closure will begin at 8am on Sunday, June 20, and continue until 6pm that evening.

Featherstone Lane, North Featherstone - Northern Gas Networks are continuing to carry out work to replace an ageing gas main on Featherstone Lane, with temporary traffic lights in place. The work began earlier this month, and is expected to continue until Monday, June 21.

Chapel Garth, Ackworth - Yorkshire Water will restrict access to Chapel Garth on Wednesday, as they carry out work on the street. The road closure is expected to be in place from 8am until 7pm.

Cross Street, Hemsworth - A road closure on Cross Street will continue next week, while Wakefield Council work on the road. The closure began last week, and is due to continue until Sunday, June 27.

Barnsley Road, Hemsworth - Temporary traffic lights will be in place on Barnsley Road on Sunday, while Virgin Media work in the area. Delays are expected.

Southmoor Road, Hemsworth - Temporary traffic lights on Southmoor Road, Hemsworth will remain in place next week, while Northern Gas Networks work on the road. The work is expected to continue until Friday, June 18.

Trough Lane, South Elmsall - A road closure remains in place on Trough Lane while Yorkshire Water wok on the road. Work began in January, and will continue until July.
