Long queues as emergency repairs carried out on M62 at Wakefield


Almost four miles of traffic has been reported on the M62 at Wakefield this morning.
Highways England said they had closed three lanes of westbound carriageway at around 6am today (Thursday, July 9), after being made aware of a pothole on the carriageway.
Photos from the scene show a large hole in the ground filled with rainwater between junction 29 (Lofthouse) and junction 28 (Tingley).

Hide AdEmergency repairs have been carried out and the carriageway reopened, but long delays remain in the area.
Around four miles of traffic has been reported on the motorway.
The queue continues past Lofthouse Interchange, which is currently closed for repairs.
