The closure will begin at 9pm on Friday, May 29 and last until 5am on Monday, June 1.

It is to allow essential waterproofing work to take place on the East Ardsley railway bridge, and to ensure the upgrade work is done ‘safely and efficiently’.

Also closed during this time will be the M1(N) to M62 westbound free flow link, the M62 westbound entry at junction 29/42 from the Lofthouse roundabout, the M1(S) to M62 westbound low level free flow link and the east side of Lofthouse Roundabout.

This isn’t the first time the motorway has seen a full weekend closure, with removal and replacement of bituminous surfacing and deck re-waterproofing taking place last summer.

Diversion routes will be in place and can be found on the National Highways website.
