Motorists face delays as South Kirkby gas mains work gets underway

Barnsley Road will be closed from Monday, April 28 for around five weeks near The Green while 350m of ageing pipes are replaced.

The road will be closed for around five weeks and the works are expected to take around six weeks to complete.

John Pickering, customer operations area manager, Northern Gas Networks said: “We have planned our work closely with the highways department at Wakefield Council to minimise disruption.

“We would like to apologise for any inconvenience this essential work may cause and thank everyone in advance for their patience and understanding.”
