The footage then showed them pulling down the ceiling tiles and trying to set the roof insulation on fire.

The incident happened at a container on Common Road Playing Fields, South Kirkby, in the early hours of Wednesday, July 22.

And the club’s chairman Mo Thornton found the kitchen had been trashed later that morning.

He said: “It is soul destroying and I do not know what they have gained by doing it.

“I am lost for words why they have done this. It is beyond evil.”

The footage of the break-in was shared on Facebook and Mr Thornton visited a friend’s home to watch the video.

He said: “The mindless idiots filmed each other while they trashed the place. The police know about the video so hopefully they can find them.

“It will cost us thousands to get the kitchen back to what it was.”

The football club has two under sevens teams, two under eights, an under nines and an under 12s girls side.

And Mr Thornton, who has been involved with the club for more than 20 years, said the damage will not stop the club from running.

He said: “We will get on with it. They are not going to win. We will continue carrying on with what we do for the community and the children.”
