Vandals tear down Christmas tree lights

Vandals have torn down Christmas tree lights across the district.

Lights on the Christmas tree in Wakefield city centre have been vandalised twice in the past fortnight.

The vandals have also damaged lights on Ossett Town Hall, and at Green Lane in Featherstone as well as in Hemsworth town centre.

Wakefield Council says it cannot afford to keep replacing the damaged lights.

Police have been made aware of the incidents.
