Wakefield man ordered to repay more than £350,000 gained from prostitution and money laundering offences

Kevin Wrigglesworth, 48, of Ridings Way, was arrested in January 2011 and charged later that year with being concerned in prostitution for gain and money laundering offences. He was sentenced to eight months imprisonment, suspended for 12 months, on Monday 25 June 2012.

But on Friday, he was ordered to pay back a total of £360,388.49 and has six months to do so or he will face four years in prison.

Richard Grant, accredited financial investigator for West Yorkshire Police, said: “When a criminal has profited from crime we have the power to seize any available assets such as houses, cars, cash and other belongings and now Wrigglesworth has to pay back a substantial amount of money.

“There are other criminals living off the proceeds of crime, why should they?”
