Wakefield Works scheme was a success
The initiative, now in its third year, gives 16 to 25-year-olds a chance to speak to senior managers and leaders, find out what it’s like to work in different sectors and discover what skills and qualifications are needed to work in an industry.
More than 140 people turned up to an inaugural jobs fair, run in conjunction with Wakefield Council, to find out what apprenticeships and placements were on offer.
The scheme was supported by a number of firms, including the Wakefield Express, First Choice Recruitment, Beaumont Legal, Mid Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce, Next Distribution and Harvard Engineering.
