Wakefield’s Artwalk takes place tonight

The city’s creative quarter will be on display during tonight’s Artwalk.

The multi-venue event includes a talk between artist David Murphy and Yorkshire Sculpture Park senior curator Helen Pheby at The Art House on Drury Lane.

The same venue will also feature a residency from London based artist Malgorzata Dawidek Gryglicka.

And The Orangery is hosting an outdoor exhibition by Fi Oberon, which celebrates Yorkshire’s wool production history through needle felted characters.

The boardroom of Jordans Solicitors, on King Street, will become a gallery for the work of Leeds painter Helen Dryden.

There will also be lots of indoor cycling-themed events on at Wakefield Museum.

The event showcases local, national and international talent in a range of city centre venues.

Exhibition spaces range from the traditional art gallery space, through to historic buildings, cafes, bars, retail outlets and offices.

Times for Artwalk exhibitions and events vary between 5pm and 9pm.
