Warning after boy is seriously injured on school roof

A school has issued a warning against trespassers after a boy was badly injured after climbing onto the roof.

Stanley St Peter's Primary School on Lake Lock Road made the statement after the teenager badly cut his leg on Sunday night.

The emergency services were called shortly before 10pm, although it is unknown if the boy fell through the skylight to the ground.

A spokesman for the school said: "I implore you, the members of our community, if you see anyone trespassing on school property, please contact the police immediately.

"Not only is it against the law but it can result in someone getting hurt.

"I’m led to believe that the young man will be ok - he apparently had a serious cut on his leg - and I’m hoping and praying that makes a full recovery."
