WDH wins landlord of the year prize at top awards event


Wakefield and District Housing (WDH) was named Large Social Landlord of the Year and Landlord of the Year at the prestigious UK Housing Awards.
WDH, which houses 60,000 people in the district, won the prizes after judges were impressed with a project to improve lives and tackle social inequality.

Hide AdThe Health Inequality Case Worker scheme has helped more than 1,500 people in some of the district’s most deprived areas after being launched in 2009.
WDH was presented with he prizes at an awards ceremony on April 16 at London’s Lancaster hotel.
Chief executive Kevin Dodd said the awards proved WDH was committed to delivering high-quality services.
He continued: “Winning these two awards is a magnificent achievement and thanks go to everyone who has supported us to win these outstanding accolades.
“These awards show how innovative and committed we are to improving lives.”
The UK Housing Awards are held by the Chartered Institute of Housing and Inside Housing magazine.
