A second warning comes into place at midnight on Monday, and remains in effect until midday on Wednesday.

While the warnings are in place, the Met Office warns that roads and railways lines are likely to be affected, and injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces are likely.

People who will need to travel while the warnings are in place are advised to prepare a winter kit for their car, with items including an in-car phone charger, warm blankets and food.

The district has been subjected to several bouts of snow in recent weeks, with school closures, travel disruption and flood warnings implemented.
