A band of snow will move across the warning area through Sunday morning, which could lead to travel delays and potential power cuts.

The amounts of snow will depend on both elevation and the intensity of precipitation on Sunday, and, as the band pushes east through the afternoon, it will begin to transition to what the Met Office has called an “awkward mix of rain, sleet and snow”.

The Met Office’s official outlook for Sunday to Tuesday reads: “Winds strengthening early Sunday, ahead of rain and snow moving east, likely turning to rain to all levels. Less cold Monday and Tuesday, but changeable with further outbreaks of rain.”

Later into the month and drier weather is expected with the long range forecast stating that temperatures will be “widely above average”.
