That’s the question being asked by council chiefs as they consider nominations for the next famous name to be commemorated on the city’s pavements.

The Wakefield Star plaque scheme has so far immortalised 14 celebrities from across the district, including guitarist and songwriter Bill Nelson.

Coun Les Shaw, Wakefield Council’s cabinet member for leisure, culture and sport, said: “We are proud of this scheme which recognises the achievements of local people, both in the past and at the current time. The plaques form a walk of famous peole which we hope will be here for many years to come.”

The closing date for nominations is June, 17 2015.

Nominations can be made at any of the district’s libraries, at Wakefield Visitor Centre or on the council’s website at www.wakefield.gov.uk
