Witness appeal after Wakefield fire
Police are appealing for witnesses following a fire at a home on West Street in Wakefield city centre.
PC Pickering, from Wakefield central neighbourhood police team, spotted smoke coming from the property at around 2.30pm on Saturday, April 14. He evacuated residents from nearby houses until a crew from Wakefield Fire Station was able to put out the fire. Following enquiries at the scene two people were arrested.
