Woman hospitalised after late night crash
A female driver has been taken to hospital with suspected neck and spinal injuries after a road accident in Horbury on Saturday night.
The woman was driving round a bend on Daw Lane at about 11pm when she lost control of the vehicle, which crashed into a telecom pole.
Police and ambulance services attended the scene, along with fire and rescue crews from Wakefield, Ossett and Cleckheaton.
She had to be freed from the car - a black Vauxhall Astra - and is believed to have been taken to Pinderfields Hospital.
There were no passengers with her at the time of the accident.
