Working men’s club evacuated after youths start fire
A working men’s club in South Kirkby had to be evacuated last night after youths started a fire close to the premises.
Fire crews from South Kirkby were called to Mill Lane Working Men’s Club at around 6pm last night (Sunday).
A West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue spokesperson said a fire had been started close to the club’s fire escape, causing the smoke detectors to go off.
Crews used hose reel jets at the scene and ventilated the club to clear it of smoke.
Police have been notified.
