I just found the nostalgic weekend away that my friends will love with 80s hits and retro disco nights

If your group of friends still knows all the words to the biggest 80s hits, I may have found the perfect excuse to organise a weekend away. Parkdean’s 80s Weekender at Cayton Bay in Yorkshire promises a nostalgic line-up of music, retro entertainment and throwback favourites, making it an appealing option for anyone who fancies swapping the usual night out for something a little different.

Rather than booking a standard weekend break, the idea of combining a trip away with live performances and an 80s disco sounds like a lot of fun. Whether you grew up listening to the decade’s biggest hits or simply love the music, there’s plenty on the line-up to get excited about.

The programme features Deniece Pearson of Five Star, bringing her recognisable vocals and pop credentials to the stage, alongside Doctor and the Medics, known for their theatrical glam rock style. Gary Davies is also on the bill, promising a show packed with classic 80s favourites.

There’s plenty more for fans of retro music, too. The Wild Boys will perform their tribute to the decade’s music, while Uncle Albert’s 80s Disco promises a high-energy party filled with familiar tunes and nostalgia.

The Real Thing are also set to appear, celebrating the 50th anniversary of their classic hit ‘You To Me Are Everything’ topping the charts. Meanwhile, Black Lace bring party favourites including ‘Superman’ and ‘Do the Conga’, and Thereza Bazar of Dollar will revisit the hits that helped make the duo an 80s favourite.

And that’s not all, with more acts included in the line-up. It sounds like the sort of weekend where you can expect plenty of singalongs, dancing and memories brought back by songs you haven’t heard in years.

What appeals to me most is the chance to turn a music event into a proper getaway. Cayton Bay offers a coastal setting for the break, so there’s the option to enjoy time away with friends as well as the entertainment itself.

I can imagine this being a fun choice for a group celebrating a birthday, organising a catch-up or simply looking for an excuse to get everyone together. Instead of trying to agree on one restaurant or bar, you have a whole weekend built around a shared love of music.

If your idea of a great night involves singing along to songs you remember from the radio, dancing to old favourites and enjoying a few days away with friends, Parkdean’s 80s Weekender at Cayton Bay is one to look into. With a line-up spanning pop favourites, tribute performances and retro disco fun, it could be just the nostalgic escape your group has been looking for.
